Mercabarna launches its own job portal for food and agriculture

Mercabarna has recently launched its job portal MercabarnaJobs, a digital platform for job searching, with the aim of connecting candidates seeking work in the agri-food sector with companies looking to incorporate more accessible personal.

Mercabarna is a food market operating 24 hours a day, with the aim of guaranteeing the supply of fresh food to its citizens of Barcelona.

Due to the high turnover of personnel in the agri-food sector, Mercabarna needs to incorporate new workers and this portal will undoubtedly facilitate the search.

Currently this large food estate is made up of more than 700 different companies with about 7,500 direct employees and 23,000 professionals who daily converge in their facilities creating work in Barcelona.

MercabarnaJobs will constantly publish not only new jobs, but also contribute to the placement of students in occupational courses organized by their training services.

The most demanded professional profiles are usually those of commercials and those related to logistics and food handling.

Last year 2019, a total of 20 courses of butchery, fruit and vegetable sales, fishmongers, florists and warehouse waiter were taught in which 228 students participated and subsequently 66% of them got a job in Mercabarna. The company is committed to training and job creation.
