ApTask introduces one-of-a-kind app compatible with Alexa and Google

​ApTask, one of the leading staffing and recruitment companies in the US, recently launched an innovative Amazon Alexa Skill and Google Assistant Action titled ‘Jobs Near Me’. Currently only available in the US, the new app enables candidates to optimize their job search using the power of voice by receiving a customized list of opportunities in less than 60 seconds. 

“We are constantly innovating and using cutting-edge technology-based solutions that simplify the candidate’s job search. There are over 1 billion Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled devices; this prompted us to think creatively about how we can utilize conversational voice interface to optimize our business goals,” says Taj Haslani, Founder of ApTask.

The "Jobs Near Me" Alexa skill can be accessed on any Alexa-enabled device, such as Amazon Echo, Echo Show, Echo Dot, Fitbit Versa 2, Fire TV, in addition to any mobile phone or laptop with Alexa installed. Candidates need to open the Alexa app and enable “Jobs Near Me” in the skill section of the app or on the Amazon.com website. Users will also be able to say, “Alexa, enable Jobs Near Me” to enable the skill. To use the Alexa skill, just say “Alexa, open Jobs Near Me” once the app is enabled. 

The "Jobs Near Me" Google Assistant Action skill can be accessed on any Assistant-enabled devices, such as Google Home Mini, Google Home, Google Home Hub, Google Nest Hub Max, including mobile phones or laptops with Google Assistant enabled. Google Assistant users can say “Hey Google / OK Google, talk to Jobs Near Me” to enable the app.

"Jobs Near Me" gathers candidate’s preferences such as:

1. The role the candidates is interested in. For instance: Project Manager, Java Developer
2. Type of Opportunity. For instance: Contract, Full-time, Both
3. Preferred Location based on zip code provided

The candidate will instantly receive an SMS with the list of job opportunities based on the preference stated above.
