It's a pattern seen in countries across the globe, home searching numbers are on taking a hard hit and Canada's numbers are no different.
Point2 Homes, a Canadian property portal, has reported that home searches on its platform were 38% lower now than they were at the beginning of the month.
On the marketing side, analytics have shown the marketplace that there's been a decrease in interest in real estate terms like "houses for sale".
With the drop in those looking to buy a home, the market has seen a number of businesses closing down completely and unemployment is on the rise with companies scrambling to save money wherever they can. The Toronto real estate board TRREB issued a statement explaining what "essential business" means for real estate and that companies should avoid in-person business like open houses.
Businesses across all verticals are expecting to see continued changes in not only their personal numbers but in economies around the world, with similar drops in numbers in the US market, as well.
