We have covered several examples of property portals around the world using their position to help those in need in these dark times. Irish portal, Daft.ie may have just topped them all with their latest initiative.
Following advice from the Irish government that healthcare workers should no longer be sharing accommodation in order to protect families and housemates from infection, Daft is launching its Housing Heroes campaign.
The campaign is looking to leverage the portal’s position as the largest property site in the country to find empty properties, list them free of charge on the site on a special section and then match the property with a healthcare professional in need.
Eamonn Fallon, CEO of Daft.ie said, “Ireland’s healthcare workers are doing an amazing job and we want to support them in anyway we can. Our team are working day and night sourcing rent-free apartments for our frontline doctors and nurses. We hope to be in a position to start filling them by early next week.”
