Our series of infographics ‘Top Property Portals’ brings you the market-leading real estate portals from around the world. Last week we looked at the top portals in East Asia and this week we go down under to round the series off with a look at the Top Property Portals of Oceania.
As always, if you run a property portal in one of these countries and think we’ve made a mistake, get in touch and show us your numbers and we'll be happy to make a correction if we agree…
Papua New Guinea - Hausples.com.pg
Part of the Digital Classifieds Group portfolio of companies, the portal's name means “house place” in the country’s native language. According to the Group’s website the portal may be unique in the world as all the country’s agents are on the portal and even have their CRM s and websites run through it.
Australia - Realestate.com.au
The flagship portal of the giant Newscorp backed, publicly-traded REA Group which has interests in Asia and the United States. The group’s dominance in Australia is strong as it also owns realcommercial.com.au (commercial real estate) as well as spacely.com.au (co-working portal) and flatmates.com.au (shared accommodation)
Fiji - Property.com.fj
Another portal in which Digital Classifieds Group has a stake and another founded by an ex-pat Australian. Property.com.fj has been going since its foundation by Traviss Orr in 2014 and is the island nation’s principal specialist property portal.
New Zealand - Realestate.co.nz
Realestate.co.nz (which is run in part by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand) is the largest specialist property portal. The portal faces stiff and bitter competition from the general classifieds site Trademe.co.nz’s property section. Because SimilarWeb doesn’t show the breakdown of traffic to Trademe’s sections, Realestate.co.nz wins this one.
Well, it’s the last in the series so we might as well try for one more angry email...
