The Italian portal group Wikicasa has bought and revamped the long-serving commercial property portal Commerciali.it. Previously owned by Trei srl, Commerciali.it is the grand old lady of property portals in the country and had been operating along much the same lines since 2000.

Having seen the previous incarnation of Commerciali.it, OnlineMarketplaces can confirm that the Wikicasa overhaul is a significant improvement that brings the popular portal into the modern era. The redesigned portal features map functionality and over 100,000 properties from 7,000 agencies. Existing Wikicasa customers will benefit from the extra shop window for their listings as all of their commercial properties will automatically be added to the portal.

Commenting on the purchase and overhaul of Commerciali.it, Wikicasa CEO Pietro Pellizzari said:

“We realized that the real estate and commercial activities sector deserved a dedicated space to best present the offer of professionals, promote real estate for the business and activity means providing information and characteristics that differ deeply from those of the residential market. Having a channel dedicated to commercial real estate allows us to oversee a significant sector - in strong growth - for a turnover of 16 billion euro transacted, about 15% of the entire national real estate market " [Translated from Italian]
