Jitty, the UK's first AI-powered home discovery app, has launched in Bath.
The portal, which will roll out in more cities soon, boasts USPs including more detailed filters and market supply than Zoopla, and collaboration and sharing in-app.
Jitty claims already to have more coverage than Zoopla, the UK's number two portal behind Rightmove. The portal has received funding from Gradient Ventures, an AI-first venture capital firm backed by Google.
Jitty is a free-to-list app that uses AI to index homes straight from estate agents' websites. Jitty's listings link directly to their websites, giving agents control of the relationship and also boosting SEO.
Graham Paterson, co-founder and CEO, said:
"All three co-founders have bought homes in the last few years, and we couldn’t believe how bad the process is at every single stage. Some parts (like being in a chain or having complex legal issues) are tricky to solve, but just being able to understand the market with a great user experience should be easy.
"We didn’t understand why booking a holiday, renting an apartment overseas, or buying a book online had better usability than buying a home for several hundred thousand pounds. We’ve set out to give home-buyers, and those who simply love enjoying property content, the fantastic experience they deserve, by giving them a suite of tools to help every step of the way.
"This is just the start, we are listening to Estate Agents our users at every step of the way and will be sharing some exciting new features throughout 2024.
"The size of the opportunity for Jitty is huge—residential real estate is the world’s biggest asset class yet there hasn’t been real innovation for a very long time. In the UK there are 1 million home moves each year, equally split between buying and rental.
James Storer, co-founder and CPO, said:
"We let people tell us exactly what type of home they want, and we’ll show them everything about every home that meets their requirements.
"The current home-buying tools available to consumers optimise to show you as many homes as they can in a small area. Jitty optimises to show you all the best homes for you—the biggest purchase you ever make shouldn't feel like guesswork.
"We also give users a way to share information with their partner, friends and family - which is such an important aspect of buying a new home as it is very rarely a solo activity. We set out to build a tool to solve our own problems, but we know the pain felt by home -buyers across the globe and we want to solve it for everyone."
Jitty was co-founded in 2023 by CEO Graham Paterson, formerly at Wise and Deliveroo, CPO James Storer, ex-Deliveroo, Freetrade, Habito, and Klarna, and CTO Daniel Cooper previously at Deliveroo, Duffel and Hopin. The firm uses LLM (large-language model) technologies, as well as computer vision, to read floor plans, and understand photos and descriptions of homes.
