Swiss Marketplace Group (SMG) has announced that the company is gearing up to move its regional office from the small town of Flamatt to the regional capital of Fribourg, set to take place in the autumn of 2024. The company's decision to shift its approximately 160 employees to the Bluefactory site in Fribourg signifies a strategic move to a more centrally located office.
Christoph Tonini, CEO of SMG Swiss Marketplace Group, cited better accessibility for staff across Switzerland, especially in the western region, as a driving factor for the move.
“Our new site has excellent transport links and we’re primarily hoping that this location will be more accessible for all staff throughout Switzerland, especially in western Switzerland. Covid has fundamentally changed the needs and requirements for office infrastructure. We’re responding to this trend with offices designed for hybrid working. This new, attractive location will encourage our employees to meet increasingly often, to network and to collaborate in an inspiring setting.”
Fribourg State Councillor Olivier Curty welcomed SMG's decision to remain in the canton, highlighting the economic boost and growth potential this relocation signifies for Fribourg.
SMG is the operator of several leading marketplace sites in Switzerland including ImmoScout24, Homegate and Home.ch. The company was formed via the coming together of TX Group, Ringier and insurance specialist die Mobiliar along with General Atlantic in September 2021.
