REA Group has named Steve Maidment as its new Chief Technology Officer and a member of the Group's executive leadership team.
Maidment joins from Toronto-based marketplace Autotrader.ca, where he has served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Digital Officer since 2018, and is set to start his new role in October.
He previously held positions in Australia including General Manager for Digital Channels at Australia Post and Chief Digital Officer at Melbourne-based CrownBet.
Maidment replaces acting CTO Craig Templeton who stepped in for Chris Venter who was forced into medical leave after suffering a serious accident last year. Templeton will return to his previous role as Chief Information Security Officer and General Manager of Technology and Data Platforms upon Maidment's arrival.
