Zumper, a leading provider of rental industry software, has announced its collaboration with OpenAI's artificial intelligence engine, ChatGPT.
The partnership aims to enhance the rental search experience for consumers by leveraging ChatGPT's advanced machine-learning capabilities, including improved search results that surpass the limitations of standard filters commonly used in the industry.
Shalin Amin, Chief Experience Officer at Zumper, said in a blog post:
“One of the standout features of our ChatGPT plugin is its capacity to leverage data points from various sources, including images and Zumper’s location-specific datasets such as proximity to schools, nightlife, and grocery stores.
“Visualize a rental search that transcends basic inputs and genuinely comprehends your implicit needs.
“The experience would be comparable to conversing with a seasoned travel agent rather than merely inputting data into a search interface. You could detail your desire for a home that is bathed in natural light, faces south, or falls within a specific school district. You could highlight your preference for a safe neighbourhood or indicate your ideal commute duration.
“We believe this move will foster greater transparency and facilitate more informed decision-making for tenants, landlords, and policymakers alike.”
The AI revolution is beginning to hit full flow with a number of high-profile integrations in recent months.
Self-confessed tech nerds Doss launched its own AI as recently as last week, Italy-based iBuyer Casavo has gone for AI-inspired 'Netflix style' recommendations, with Zillow, Global Listings and RentSync also getting involved in AI integrations for their respective platforms.
Meanwhile, Zumper's latest product updates have definitely leaned towards the rise of nomadic lifestyles. The portal is the first to offer annual, monthly and nightly rentals last year, and followed up its 'nomad-friendly' offering with the launch of the FlexPass subscription for remote and nomadic renters worldwide.
